Almost 20 years ago, I announced to my family that I was going to get a Ph.D. in Recreation. When they picked themselves up off the floor from laughing so hard, they asked the question: “What in the heck are you going to do with that?”

I once thought I would lose myself within academia and use my Ph.D. to teach college students about leisure and recreation. I have since discovered that there are others who need my study and attention more. I think that those I can help the most are folks around my age who are lost in their work and who can't find their way to a balanced and fulfilling life
